HOLY DAY of the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

The Holy Day of the Immaculate Conception falls on the second Sunday of Advent and this year will be celebrated on Monday, December 9, 2024. Typically, this is a Holy Day of Obligation; in keeping with our practice in our Province and many of the dioceses in the west, this will not be a Holy Day of Obligation this year. However, the faithful are encouraged to attend Mass in order to give honor to the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is especially important since the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Patronal Feast Day of the United States of America.
